Did Rob Shut Down His Official MySpace?
I just saw an article that said that Rob deleted his Official MySpace. He announced it on his Twitter. Is that true? And why did he delete it?
Some celebrities take to Twitter, their official websites, and MySpace to discuss their day-to-day lives and projects. A recent article makes it sound like Rob had an official MySpace and has decided to delete it. True? Or another example of “Fake Robs” at work? Let’s take a look.
The Evidence
Although it appears that the “announcement” came on Sunday, April 5th, the article garnering the fuss is from today’s MSN’s Wonderwall:

The announcement came from the Twitter “TheRobPattinson”. A search of that name now comes up empty. A search of “Rob Pattinson” or “Robert Pattinson, however, brings up pages of accounts…many of whom claim to be the “real” Robert Pattinson.
But what about his “Official MySpace“? It has indeed been deleted, but this screen capture shows what it used to look like. Rob’s manager Nick Frenkel, however, has been pretty clear on whether Rob has a MySpace, as he told Pattinson Online in February:
Rob has neither an official nor personal page on Myspace, Facebook or any other networking site. His fans should not be fooled by anyone representing themselves as Rob or claiming that they have a sanctioned Robert Pattinson site.

The Verdict
We get a lot of questions like this, and we’ll be addressing a few specific cases in the future here on the site. People want to believe they’re connecting with Rob via a MySpace, Facebooks, Twitter…wherever.
And hey, we’re thorough. Although Nick Frenkel’s quote addresses MySpace and Facebook and “other networking site[s]“, is Twitter considered a networking site? Was it true back then, but not now? Our fantastic partners at Spunk Ransom had the same question. They got on the phone with Nick’s assistant for clarification on this point and reported he said the following today:
No Twitter. No Facebook. No MySpace.
It really doesn’t get any clearer than that, does it? All of these pages are fakes. There was no Official MySpace, and that was not Rob’s Twitter. This one is BUSTED.
Ah, time for yet another movie. Rob is spending his early summer in and around the Los Angeles area shooting his next film, Water for Elephants. We can't wait for that one. And Eclipse promotion is calling his name as well. Happy June!As always...

The website robert-pattinson.co.uk contacted Rob’s manager Nick Frenkel once again. He said Rob doesn’t have a Myspace, Facebook, LJ or Twitter. They are ALL fakes without exceptions.
Wow. People are so stupid to waste Ll there time posing to be some that they will never be. Why can’t people just leave him alone. I mean he has a life. I LOVE ROB PATTINSON!!!! :))))

…and if you go to his “friends box” there is also a poser of kristen, nikki,ashley, AND taylor…it has been going on for a while…check it out..of course it seems legitamet to some peoplebecause on this particular page it claims that he has someone else “help” him run it…check it out

This–like all other Rob MySpaces, official and unofficial–is fake. Rob has NO MySpace, NO Facebook, NO Twitter, etc.

i feel sorry for the young girl fans that go onto twitter and “rob pattison” tells them alsorts of rubbish, then he goes and says something like “i didnt shag kirsten!” what kind of a gentleman would say something like that?he has alot of young girls fooled and its a right shame. They all think its him and for all these young girls to be in the position where they feel they are chatting to the real rob is very strange and so wrong!He should be banned off twitter for lieing to all these people and ousted!!He has infact stolen someone’s cyber identity!!

does that mean that soo many of the “celebs” on twitter are likely to be fakes !! it sux for fans who think they are really getting to see what their fave celebs are up to….. there is always people to ruin things for others !!
