Well, a picture is worth a thousand words, isn’t it?
Rob doesn’t just smoke for photoshoots. Whether he has ever attempted to stop smoking, we don’t know. He has spoken generally about trying to be healthier, but never addressed the topic. However, rumors don’t get much easier than this one, folks.
This is one rumor that is most definitely true. Pattinson Anonymous labels this BELIEVED.

We agree, millzy, but when people ask, we try to answer their questions even if it is obvious or “thin.” It’s not lame to the person who asked or the new fan who doesn’t know.
Rob smoking kills, makes you stink and people already give you a hard time about that one, turns your fingers yellow and not to mention your lungs do you want to hurt you singing career I know you don’t want to be labeled as Jay-lo but you can sing why ruin your lungs. Don’t put me in your black book I think we would get along. I just want you to be healthy, ok now I sound like a mother. Never mind do what ever you want!
I’m actually happy he smokes. I happen to love the taste of ashtrays, and I guess he doesn’t care if anyone tastes like one either! It’s hard to find guys like that these days.
YES he is a dam good actor, fantastic! in twilight it seems if they can’t find anything bad they will make it up if they say you smell rob your in good company they said the same about Brad Pitt I think its a bunch of crap! I lost respect for him AND Kristen Stewart when I found out that they smoked. I was really shocked and appalled that GQ would take a photo of Rob smoking, essentially glamorizing it, and that Nylon would make frequent references to Kristen lighting up. Disgusting, pathetic.
Sorry to break it to you Courtney, but the whole cast of the Twilight series (except for underage Taylor) all smoke. My vice is caffeine…four red bull a day is standard for me. I’m probably damaging some internal organ(s)……does that make me disgusting and pathetic? LOL

I just love how judgmental some of you folks are… Has it occurred to you that what someone else does is none of your business; especially when that someone is someone you’ll never have anything to do with? Please attempt to take care of your own lives, rather than passing judgments on others for something so meaningless as whether or not they smoke… It’s not like there is a photo of your dream man skinning a live bunny rabbit… Oh yeah, please remember, Robert Pattinson is a real person - it’s Edward Cullen you’re hung up on, and he’s a fictional character… Reality medication time… LOL
It baffles me how someone can lose respect for someone because they smoke. So which one of us has no weaknesses? Do we have any idea how much stress Rob has been under over the past few months? If I was in his shoes I don’t know what I might do to cope with it. Who are we to judge him. I respect him as a serious actor and as a truly genuine and loveable person. I may chose not to smoke but I think what he choses in his life is his business. It’s not fair to project your ideals on to another person’s life.
Ok Rob smokes no big deal so do I, Rob drink so do I . It is not that big of a big it doesn’t change how good of an actor he is. We all have a weakness and I just think that his flaws makes him more normal.I agree with MJ partly Rob is a real person he is allowed to do what every he pleases. But it isn’t Edward I am hung up on. Rob is the my hang up.I agree JL it isn’t fair to say Rob should stop smoking because someone doesn’t like it. That would be like saying he should stop drink,or going out with friends because you feel he should be a hermet.No body has the right to tell anyone else what to do if they chose to do something it really is their own business. And as for the stress if I had to film Little Ashes in which was not only his first sex scene but his first gay sex scene to and they way most of the film was film you know months of not understand half the crew and then turn around and start filming Twilight you know they pretty much knew would be a sieres of four films that would have be film really close together to keep the age correctly, then all the press tours, premires and interviews and on top of that have your every move photographed for the whole world to see you are going to turn to something for a little stress relieve.I for one am just glad he chose to smoke rather than do drugs.
I agree and I’m an EX-smoker! I live in SC where ALL smokers are freaking out because of the impending Tax increase — He’s young, he’s rich, he’s beautiful — he makes ciggs look good, better than the Marlboro Man.
but all of you keep in mind.. it isnt just older teens that watch rob, or know that he smokes.. it is younger teens and they are thinking.. “oh well he smokes.. and he is so amazing i want to be just like him.. smoking must be ok” and they follow his example, i know that smoking kills.. and if you want to kill your body off early go right on ahead… but i personally think that the entire cast should try to keep it out of the public as much as possible. it is bad for the health of the younger generations!
The Marlboro Man died of Lung Cancer & we certainly do not want to see the same happen to Rob, now do we???? I also am an ex-smoker of a year & when he does stop smoking (everyone thinks it’s cool at his age) look for Rob to put on a couple of pounds in weight…
And, being British, many such people from forwign lands, still do smoke, even rather heavily…
It was also reported, several months ago, that his Twilight Sagas co-star, Kristen Stewert, likes to toke on marijuana…
I think that smoking is bad. if rob pattinson dose he should totaly stop. my family and i have been devisated with a loos of 4 family members that did smoke. i love rob and i would hate to him bet lung canser. also smoking is so gross. it gives you bad breath yellow teeth it also can make you loss your hair and having a bald rob pattinson would be so sad. i dont know if he dose or dosent but if he dose he should stop. he is a huge role modle the kids and thenthey would think it would be ok to somke. also people say that he drinks. fyi he is 23.

Young people never believe it could happen but I saw in a hospital a man who was young with lung cancer — first patient that I saw in my clinicals who was dying. It broke my heart. I have seen more now and understand that many, many times people just will not believe that they could get lung cancer until they have it. Usually when lung cancer symptoms prompt the individual to seek medical help, it is too late. Lung cancer spreads and there is nothing medically that can be done. It IS deadly and a very aggressive cancer. It is a bad way to die. Smoking also lowers/depresses the immune system. It pulls vitamins out of the body system. Many smokers do not eat healthily. Robert Pattinson is young and may believe that it will not catch up with him for many years. Young people think that way. I hope that he realizes he has too bright of a future to allow health problems to get in the way.
It is sad to see anyone get a serious illness. Heartbreaking, actually. Patrick Swayze is very courageous in his serious illness but it is very sad. Sometimes a person did not do anything necessarily to get a disease or cancer; however, we ALL can choose to eat healthy with plenty of vegetables, fruits, water, limited meat/no pork and whole grains. We can exercise and we can limit alcoholic beverages and NOT smoke. We will be doing our part to take care of this marvelous, marvelous body that the Lord has given us. Just read a LITTLE about anatomy and you will be so amazed — actually, more than amazed — to realize just what kind of creator we have to make such a wonderful creation as our bodies. We should take care of what He gave to us every day as much as we can.
And we all need to take care of our bodies — they are our transportation along our path in life. We are mortal.
If I had some advice to pass along to this young man, it would be — to take care of his body and realize that he is very blessed to be given this talent and this opportunity while on this earth — and what he does daily will decide the health he has later on down the road.
May the Lord bless you with the decisions that you make during your life, Robert. You have a good start. Take care of what you have — don’t mar your vocal cords with smoking or put your body at risk.

Ha! At least he wasn’t firing up a bong like our girl Kristen got busted for doing!! Whereas I hate to see anyone smoke, Rob’s a big boy and he can smoke if he wants.

i dont give a crap that he smokes. in my opinion it looks freaking hawt. i dont really mind the smell of ciggarettes cause my grandpa and step-grandma smoke. and it doesnt really matter. he could have started cause of all the rumors that he smelles or what ever. or maybe thats what theyre talking about saying he smells. (I doubt thats true though). maybe hes trying to quit. we dont know that. either way smoking is just something people do. it makes no difference in who you are inside. hes still sexyy though.
i understand why people think he’s glamourising smoking. he looks like a modern james dean! but all the facts about the dangers of smoking are well known, there’s no mystery about what it does to your health. if someone smokes now, they know what they’re getting into.

I hate smoking. The smell and health issues are bad enough,,,but it sure does not scare the young smokers. Am hoping Rob will eventually quit for his voice sakes. He is a talented singer! I am a FAN..

People will do what they want to do, I guess. But smoking is a huge, nasty mistake made worse when people in the spotlight do it. Smoking isn’t just a bad habit - it’s an addiction. I don’t wish that on anybody, and I hope Rob has the guts to stop NOW. Otherwise he has a fun future to look forward to…clothes, hair, breath that smell of old smoke, more dental care for stained teeth, more potential for tooth decay, chronic “smoker” cough, breathing problems, health problems and potential lung disease, huge expense. Who would even want to excuse all that in someone they admire? Please, Rob. Just quit. Please. Smoking is a physical, emotional, social, and mental turn-off, so do the right thing already: STOP.

Both Robert and Kristen smoke for real. 45 mins talking and Robert even smoked 3 cigarettes. Golly! Never mind what people say, with me, no matter how hot they are, they smoke and i totally lose the interest in them. Such horrible habit! They’re talent though. No deny of course.
