Photo of Rob and Kristen Hugging: Real or Manip?
I saw this photograph of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart hugging next to her car on a website, and they say “Could Rob and Kristen be dating? Check out a new photo that hit the web.” Some people in the comments are saying it’s not real, and others say it is. Is this photo of Rob and Kristen real?
Aaaaaah, somebody has been busy with Photoshop, it looks like. Let’s dig in.
The Evidence
This one is pretty simple.
The photograph used of Kristen is very recent, from just days ago. So it wasn’t any trouble at all to find the original.
It’s a shot of her waiting at a gate to visit a friend in a suburb of Los Angeles. You can see it’s the exact same one from the manipulation. She’s holding a cell phone in her hand and is standing next to a Mini Cooper.
The one photograph of Rob goes a little further back, but it was fairly easy to find as well.
It’s a shot of Rob from May 9, 2009. He’s getting into a car in Los Angeles after a rumored audition for actresses in Remember Me.
The person that made the manipulation, just reversed the shot, as you can see below.
The Verdict
To be honest, we’re surprised that we even got questions on this particular manipulation, only because when it was posted at various websites it was clearly marked as a manipulation. It was created by Mind_posted and originally posted at Twifans under the headline “Sweet Manip of Kris and Rob - Love It”.
It was also posted at New Moon the Movie. They were not quite as clear that is was a manip, but did note it for those that read the text:
“Whether or not such a thing is happening is anyone’s guess, but I thought this photo manipulation of the duo gives a good approximation of what the couple might look like if they were public with their affection.”
Now, we could argue that posting photos that are clearly manipulations to “give a good approximation of what the couple might look like” is probably not the wisest idea, but nevertheless it was so indicated.
As for the original post from the web that didn’t indicate the photo was a manipulation at all? Well, we’re not surprised. Anyone who wanted to know if this photo was a manipulation could have easily found out with three minutes of research on the web. It’s clearly indicated at the main two sites that posted the photograph, and all the others that re-posted it. However, we’re not surprised that the mainstream media didn’t even bother. Not surprised at all.

You know, whoever did that didn’t do a half bad job. The other ones you usually don’t have to look closely to see the chop job on it, jerky extractions with jagged edges. This one I actually had to look close. I really want to just blow it up and look at it really close. Just for fun. Awesome post!
It’s too bad that this is already circulating the Web as a “real” photo. It’s really not fair to either Kristin or Rob.
But in any case, you may want to re-evaluate your “Are Rob and Kristen together?” conclusion, lol. Looks like there’s evidence that situation has changed!
The site that I saw it on admitted it was photoshopped. They were just doing it to show what a little PDA between the two would look like. I looked at it right away and thought there would be those out there that would run with it.
This one isn’t done as well as some I’ve seen.

i knew this was a fake cuz i have that photo of rob saved on my pc just in case i need a rob fix lol.
Kristen Stewart really is a lovely young woman — and petite. You don’t really see how petite she is until she is standing next to a thin actor like Rob.
Don’t understand why the media keeps trying to get these two together as a romance. They don’t need that to keep the interest in the TWILIGHT movies. The movies are good on their own. The story plot romance is a good one.
One thing I respect highly about Kristen Stewart. She ignores the media and their tricks. She just lives her life and she does a good job of living her life and ignoring what the media says. Rob is learning how to do that also.
I would assume also that the director and producer of NEW MOON may have some influence at keeping the media from causing problems with their production.
It’s different now, isn’t it.
Or maybe some of these rags have learned — badmouth stars that the public loves and see what happens to your sales………….
I knew this was a fake the person who made it said it was. As far as Kristen and Rob together, what difference does it make if they are or not. I know they’ll be glad when they wrap up Eclipse.
This pic is manip, look at the shoes, the tire of the cars and the zone where their face should be close, no shadows.
Okay, so…. mabey this photo is real or mabey its fake and if it is fake then the photoshopper is excellent with detail because if you take a really close look at the picture of kristen and robert hugging look at robert’s hand above kristen’s pants it casted a shadown on her pants and in the photo were kristen is alone talking on the phone her pants have no shadow casting so in my opinion it looks pretty real to me but I don’t want to keep bugging them and snooping with there personal lives so I am truley sorry if I am offending anyone.
The person who made this was VERY clear that it was a manip and that they were just having fun. It was made VERY CLEAR on the original site that it was FAKE!
The thing of it is, is that I found the photo simply by doing a search. Someone had uploaded it into their photobucket acct. I was really surprised and wondered about it. Because if it were real, which being Photoshopper savvy, I wasn’t positive, but I thought if it were real it surely would signify that they were ‘close.’ I mean the picture shouts that. So I am not TOO surprised to find out that it was a manip. I found it out here first. I love your site!
Rob Pattinson is a very talented actor, he also happens to be very handsome, charming, a great musician, very open and refreshing in interviews, he has said in numerous interviews that he is straight, why then , do the “gay” rumours keep on following him?,what more does he have to say to quell the insnuations and snide remarks?, the latest ridiculous remark I heard was on TMZ, when it was pointed out that he always arrives and leaves parties alone, that he is never seen with a girl, and that he is asexual,!! it is so sad to hear constantly these awful rumours about a very talented young actor, leave him alone.

This is so fucking retarded. Wiether this is real or not, who would honestly post a bulletin about a hug? I mean really. Come on. A hug? People are getting worked up about a hug? I’m sure they’ have hugged eahother before. They’re best friends.
Love the way everyone gets overly worked up about this stuff! Especially the people who post comments on things like this saying it’s sad to care about it - contradiction much? Lol
Personally I don’t think they’re dating - surely after Rob’s “confession” (which was actually stating they were at the awards together, not together as a couple) they would come out in public now. It would be so much easier for them just to make it public after all this time. There is no reason for them not to - ergo, it seems likely that there is nothing to go public about.
